Taxes
Home: own home
Purchasing a home in the Netherlands has tax consequences. You must add an amount, the so-called fixed percentage of property, annually to your tax return for the Dutch Tax Administration. As compensation, certain costs such as (mortgage)interest can be deducted. This deduction is often beneficial to your tax return.
Have you moved into a new home in the Netherlands and has your old house not yet been sold? Then this may also apply to your old house as well. You can deduct the (mortgage)interest and costs for this house from your taxes for a maximum of 2 years.

If you work for an employer in the Netherlands, you are required to pay income tax. Your employer deducts these payroll taxes automatically from your salary. You can receive a deduction for a number of taxes and levies. These are called tax credits. Thanks to these tax credits, you pay fewer taxes. Even if you work as a temporary employee or vacation worker you will have to pay taxes and you will be eligible for tax credits.
